21 CMH. A Congress on Advanced Manufacturing and Machine Tools
IK4-TEKNIKER is to participate again this year in 21 CMH with two lectures.
Industry 4.0., digitisation or lean manufacturing are some of the subjects that will be addressed at the 21st Congress on Advanced Manufacturing and Machine Tools organised by AFM, the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of machine tools, fittings, components and toolings from October 25 to 17 at the Gipuzkoa Science and Technology Park in Donostia - San Sebastian.
IK4-TEKNIKER will play an active role at this congress by presenting two lectures during the event.
In collaboration with Zayer, the technology centre will deliver a paper entitled “Volumetric verification in machine tools using simultaneous multilateration techniques”. The presentation will address an innovative technology based on multilateration techniques that run volumetric checks on machine tools simultaneously with several other units.
This approach enables operators to check a machine in a short period of time (between 20/30min) and at a lower cost compared to the traditional methodology that takes up a full day and follows a sequential procedure.
Minor differences in machine behaviour occurring throughout an extensive period of time can also be detected to determine thermal drift and assess geometric behaviour within its range of operating temperatures.
The second paper, entitled “A study on geometric constraints and defects associated with the manufacturing process of metallic parts using LDM technology”, is focused on defining the constructive and geometric feasibility of manufacturing processes for metallic components by means of the Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) technology.
In short, the lack of knowledge with regard to additive manufacturing technologies shall be addressed through a number of experiments designed to quantify geometric limitations and also identify the most common defects associated with LMD.
The congress
There will be in-depth presentations, discussions and other formats addressing the most outstanding trends in terms of machine and component design, manufacturing and machining processes, automation and robotics, cutting tools and additive manufacturing.
