HSM 2018, the meeting point for high speed machining
The Kursaal conference centre in Donostia-San Sebastian will provide the venue for the High Speed Machining Conference 2018 to be held on April 17 and 18 during which high performance machining, texturing and additive manufacturing will be addressed.
This year´s 14th edition of the international conference on High Speed Machining (HSM) organised, amongst other companies, by IK4-TEKNIKER, will focus on high performance machining, texturing and additive manufacturing.
The following subjects will be covered:
- Numerical and Analytical Modelling of Machining (Thermal Effects and Tribological Aspects)
- High Performance Machining
- Precision, Ultra-Precision Machining (Abrasive Processes) and Micro-Machining
- Dynamics and Stability of Machining and Process Optimization, Chatter Avoidance
- Machining of Metallic and Non-Metallic Materials
- Sustainable Machining Processes (Ecolubrication, MQL, Cryogenic Machining, Dry Machining, etc.)
- Testing, Measuring, Experimental Approaches in Machining
- Cutting Tool Materials, Tool Design and Tool Performance (Coatings and Tool Wear)
- New Development in Machining Technology (Turning, Milling, Grinding, Gear Hobbing, Robot Machining, etc.)
- Machining of Difficult-to-Cut Materials (Titanium Alloys, Nickel Alloys, Stainless Steel, Hard Materials, Hybrid Processes)
- Machinability After Innovative Forming Processes (Additive Manufacturing, Severe Plastic Deformation Processes)
- CAD/CAM Systems and Strategies for High Performance Cutting, Virtual Machining
- Intelligent Machines Tools in the Next Generation (Monitoring, Diagnostics, Feed drive Modeling and Optimization, Control Systems, Control Strategies and Mechatronics, Ciberphysical systems, etc.)
- Design, Modeling, Optimization and Identification of Machine Tools (Machine Tools Structures and Environment, Thermal Behavior, Spindle Modeling, etc.)
- Educational Aspects in Machining Processes
The conference, whose doors will open officially on Thursday April 17 at the Kursaal Conference Centre in Donostia-San Sebastian, will again bring together outstanding experts dealing with manufacturing technologies and advanced machining processes.
A number of presentations have been scheduled to be given, for instance, by the director of the Institute or Production Management, Technology and Machine Tools of the Technical University of Darmstadt, Eberhard Abele or Ömer Sahin Ganiyusufoglu, CEO of the SYMG-Shenyang Machine Tool group.
To close the event, the IK4-IDEKO and IK4-TEKNIKER technology centres have programmed a visit to their facilities in Elgoibar and Eibar, respectively.
