IK4-TEKNIKER participates in the fifth edition of the MetroAeroSpace congress
During the congress, the technology centre will present a solution based on verifying pointing requirements related to the LSST telescope, a scientific installation that can perform a complete exploration of the visible sky.
From June 20-22, the city of Rome (Italy) will host the fifth edition of the International Metrology for aerospace (MetroAeroSpace) Congress where issues related to innovative measuring solutions for the aerospace sector shall be discussed.
During the congress, IK4-TEKNIKER will give a lecture entitled ““Relative pointing error verification of the telescope mount assembly subsystem for the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope” describing how an innovative solution has been developed to accurately measure LSST telescope pointing.
The technology centre has equipped the telescope with several high precision measuring systems and high-range metrology software.
The aim of the telescope is to photograph different sections of visible space in the shortest possible amount of time. In order to do so, maximum telescope pointing must be achieved throughout its entire range of operation.
The MetroAeroSpace congress
MetroAeroSpace is a congress focused on researching and developing measuring methods and instruments for the aerospace industry.
Over three days, discussions will address a number of issues such as technology for metrology-assisted production in the aerospace business, measurement of airplane components, calibration methods or electronic measuring devices in the aerospace industry, among other subjects.
