Advanced manufacturing: setting up a community for smart components
The R&D centre is participating in an initiative that is seeking to set up a community around smart components in the industry of the future.
IK4-TEKNIKER is part of the Co-FACTOR initiative, which is aiming to set up a cluster around smart components.
This initiative is based on six European projects (T-REX, iNTEFIX and Power-OM, coordinated by IK4-TEKNIKER, plus ReBorn, iRamp3 and SelSus). They are all focussing on the "Factory of the Future", and their activity ranges from cloud connected devices that learn to machinery with embedded intelligence, which adjusts itself to the production lines and automatically reconfigures itself.
In this respect, Co-FACTOR offers the possibility of making the developers of the latest technologies known for achieving intelligent production, collaborating with experts in this field, and thus taking advantage of the advances arising out of the most recent projects for the "factories of the future”.
From the Co-FACTOR initiative they want to invite all the organisations interested in developing new technologies and seeking smarter solutions for their companies to take an active role by discussing and shaping future solutions.
