Award of excellence in the area of technologies applied to collaborative robotics
The Association for Person-Computer Interactions (AIPO) has awarded a prize to the final Master’s project entitled “A study on multimodal mixed reality technologies and their integration in the area of collaborative robotics” carried out at Tekniker.
After evaluating the different papers received in the competition set up for final year projects (FYP) and final master’s projects (FMP) addressing person-computer interactions and organised by the Association for Person-Computer Interactions (AIPO), a jury made up of the board members of said association agreed that the 1st prize was to go to a an FMP entitled “A study of multi-modal mixed reality technologies and their integration in the area of collaborative robotics” carried out in 2019 by Andoni Rivera at Tekniker within the framework of an educational & collaborative agreement signed with the Masters Course on Computational Engineering and Smart Systems of the University of the Basque Country (EHU/UPV).
The prize consists of an award of 350 euros and a free on-line registration to follow the 21st International Person-Computer Interaction Conference to be held in Málaga from September 22 – 24.
After finishing his FMP, Andoni Rivera began his doctorate studies at the technology centre to further research user experience in person-robot interactions and interaction techniques, a process that is still ongoing.
This award does not only acknowledge Andoni Rivera’s excellent work but also demonstrates Tekniker’s commitment in terms of student training actions geared towards promoting research vocations amongst talented youngsters.
