business Intelligence solutions for SMEs
4.0 Industria Urola Kostan: Business Intelligence”, an initiative launched by Urola Kosta Udal Elkartea in which Tekniker has been involved whose purpose is to offer a customised consulting service based on Business Intelligence to small and medium sized companies based in the Urola Kosta district.
Regardless of the size and sectors in which they operate, more and more companies nowadays need to apply data analysis strategies and tools in an effort to enhance decision-making processes.
Business Intelligence (BI) has been defined as a process based on a number of tools that allow companies -subsequent to analysing existing data- to generate information and learn more about processes and the situation of a company with a view to improving decision making.
It is in this context that “4.0 Industria Urola Kostan: Business Intelligence” has emerged, an initiative supported by Urola Kosta Udal Elkartea, in an attempt to offer SMEs operating in the Urola Kosta district a customised consulting system focused on Industry 4.0.
More specifically, Tekniker, a member organisation of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA) and with extensive knowledge in the areas of data analysis and Business Intelligence, has been involved in a project designed to help four industrial firms carry out individual customised use cases.
The Microsoft Power Bi tool has been used to develop said cases. Among other things, companies can now analyse project profitability data with customers, returns on investments related to submitted offers, spot deviations in different project execution stages and produce updated productivity reports to support decision making in said areas.
Thanks to the knowledge acquired by companies in this initiative, it will be possible to better understand the possibilities Business Intelligence offers and learn more about what an implementation of this kind entails. Individual Business Intelligence (BI) implementation plans have been defined for all companies.
The project has received funding within the framework of the call for the “Territorial Development Programme based on the Industry 4.0 model” launched by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa.
