Erreka and Tekniker join forces in a strategic alliance to boost R&D&I
The intense R&D&I ties established between both organisations over recent years have given rise to an agreement that allows both companies to get to know each other better and consolidate a long-term collaboration.
Investments in R&D provide the driving force that an economy requires to be competitive. They are also crucial to generate more knowledge and innovation in a country to improve social prosperity.
Technology centres like Tekniker provide an instrument that supports the industry on the path towards innovation and enhanced competitiveness to deliver real benefits to the business fabric and further national growth.
Tekniker has been deploying long-term and strategic collaborative actions with companies to jointly develop high-added value products and services that enhance competitiveness for the industry and the market, that produce greater returns and act as a driving force for the country as a whole.
It is in this context that the technology centre has signed an agreement with the Gipuzkoa-based cooperative Erreka specialised in Fastening Solutions, Plastics and Automatic Accesses associated with a technological collaboration agreement according to which Tekniker undertakes to support the company in the development of its strategic R&D&I plan.
The agreement was signed yesterday in Eibar, at the technology centre’s headquarters during an event that was attended by the Director General of Tekniker, Alejandro Bengoa, and the Director General of Erreka, Antton Tomasena.
The agreement explains Tekniker’s intention to provide its know-how with regard to process automation, quality control viewing systems, embedded electronics, machine and component behaviour throughout the entire life cycle -design, manufacturing, validation, operation and maintenance, etc-.
Erreka has an extensive business track record and has always focused on innovation and development. This has allowed the organisation to set up business units that are sufficiently autonomous and have achieved a growing presence in international markets. The cooperative has approximately 400 hundred workers and actions to achieve further grow are continuing after having recently commissioned a new plant in China.
With the recent incorporation of Erreka, Tekniker is now working with more than 20 collaborating companies.
