IK4-TEKNIKER participates in CIM 2017
IK4-TEKNIKER will present an innovative device at CIM 2017 that generates small, high-precision angles.
IK4-TEKNIKER will participate in the 18th edition of the International Metrology Congress, CIM 2017 (18º Congrés International de Métrologie), to be held in Paris, France, from September 19 to 21.
The technology centre will present an innovative calibration device for angular measuring systems at the EURAMET stand (European Association of National Metrology Institutes).
This device, called LRSAG (Large range small angle generator), allows the user to generate and see, with a high degree of accuracy, the angular position thanks to several optical measuring systems. The system also features flexible mechanisms replacing the arms used by other units for the same purpose. Thus, size is reduced significantly and highly accurate on-site calibrations can be performed with it.
The development of the small angle generator on the part of IK4-TEKNIKER in cooperation with CEM y FAGOR AUTOMATION, falls within the scope of the European project “EMRP SIB58 Angles” whose aim is to guarantee traceability and dissemination for the flat angle IS (International System) at different levels of demand (ranging from high-level work carried out on particle accelerators and free electron laser facilities to industrial applications).
The congress
The congress will be reaching its 17th edition in 2017 and will bring together experts from the world of science and industry to discuss current challenges related to the field of measuring.
The congress will feature lectures, panel discussions and an exhibition area where the most recent developments connected to metrology will be on display.
