IK4-TEKNIKER participates in the european project MEDITOMATO
MEDITOMATO project is selected for funding under EU PRIMA Programme.
PRIMA, the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area has recently selected for funding the projects which were presented to the 2018 call. MEDITOMATO project, in which IK4-TEKNIKER is consortium member, has passed evaluation and is selected for funding under H2020 conditions in Section 1, category ‘agro-food chain: implementing innovation in mediterranean ago-food chains by smallholders and SMEs’. Right now, the project is in the phase of grant agreement preparation in cooperation with PRIMA Programme Office so that it can start within the second half of 2019.
The main goal of MEDITOMATO is to demonstrate innovative technology solutions in three demo-sites based on PRIMA countries covering the whole tomato value chain (from agricultural production to fresh product, processing and distribution) enabling this sector (including SMEs and smallholders) to progress at different levels (environmental, food quality & safety, sustainability, traceability, efficiency and water management) contributing to a consistent rural and social development of the Mediterranean agro-food sector supported on a quality, safe and sustainable production basis.
A consortium with reference entities along the Mediterranean will tackle this ambitious objective including: Ingeniería y Control Electrónico S.A. (Spain, Coordinator), Centro Nacional de Tecnología y Seguridad Alimentaria (CNTA, Spain), Future Intelligence Ltd (Greece), Wuppertal Institute (Germany), ARCA 2010 a.r.l. Soc.Coop. (Italy), Institut National de Recherche en Génie Rural, Eaux et Forêts (Tunisia), Bursa Uludag University (Turkey), Grupo Empresarial La Caña, S.L. (Spain), IK4 TEKNIKER (Spain), Diadikasia Business Consulting S.A. (Greece).
