IK4-TEKNIKER participates in the IoT seminar: "Benefits and challenges in an interconnected world”
During the seminar, the technology centre will address its experience with regard to developing sensors, integrating and deploying IoT platforms and generating applications and services for different sectors and companies.
Nowadays, a huge number of devices operate in a connected mode: from sensors used to manage traffic, energy or pollution to machines in the industrial environment or wearables for personal use.
The implementation of IoT (Internet of Things) provides real-time information to facilitate remote control, improve operation traceability and automation, compile relevant predictive knowledge, support decision making and optimise processes and resources.
This digital transformation allows companies to reduce costs, be more competitive, improve productivity performance and deliver a better service.
Consequently, SPRI, the business development agency of the Basque Country, will host a seminar on May 15 called “IoT: Benefits and challenges in an interconnected world” to address how important it is to incorporate the Internet of Things - IoT to business environments that are becoming increasingly interconnected.
IK4-TEKNIKER will participate in this seminar with a paper entitled “The challenge of developing advanced sensorics based on heterogeneous technologies for the IoT ecosystem” that deals with the opportunities IoT offers to companies of very diverse profiles with regard to incorporating new sensor devices in their environment, process or product to extract key real-time information and obtain benefits/improvements.
More specifically, the presentation will analyse the process and challenges associated with the development/generation of new sensors for IoT that require the incorporation of multiple technologies and complex measuring principles and whose integration or commercialisation by a company is associated, in many instances, with a paradigmatic shift.
IK4-TEKNIKER will provide its expertise and knowledge with regard to designing and developing heterogeneous and smart sensorics as occurs in the integration and deployment of IoT platforms and in the generation of applications and services for different sectors and companies.
Information on the seminar
The seminar will feature experts that will look into new developments based on IoT that are crucial for companies. Other topics such as energy harvesting, IIoT (the Industrial Internet of Things), data exploitation or cybersecurity in IoT will also be covered.
