IK4-TEKNIKER will share its capabilities in terms of manufacturing processes at the ISEM 2018 conference
The technology centre will have an important participation with regard to the lectures to be given during the forum on conventional and non-conventional manufacturing processes.
The IK4-TEKNIKER technology centre will play and outstanding role with regard to the lectures programmed for the 19th edition of the ISEM 2018 conference to be held this year from April 23 - 27 in the auditorium of the UPV/EHU (Bizkaia Aretoa) in Bilbao that will address electro-erosion and electrochemical machining.
Technology centre experts will deliver several technical presentations dealing with electrical discharge machining assisted by ultrasounds and height monitoring during laser metal deposition. They will also review geometric constraints related to the production of metallic pieces using laser welding (LMD).
The lectures to be given by IK4-TEKNIKER researchers will start on April 24 with a first presentation entitled “Ultrasonic assisted electrical discharge machining for high aspect ratio blind holes”, a case study on how to use ultrasonic vibrations to improve machining time.
On day two, April 25, the next IK4-TEKNIKER paper will focus on production limits connected to the laser cladding technology for the construction of 3D geometries in steel with a lecture entitled “Study of the geometrical limitations associated to the metallic part manufacturing by the LMD process”.
To finish, and on the same day, IK4-TEKNIKER will address “In-process height control during laser metal deposition based on structures light 3D scanning”, a paper that reviews geometric monitoring methods applied to additive manufacturing processes with direct material deposition.
