ISEM 2018, latest trends in manufacturing processes
IK4-TEKNIKER and UPV/EHU are the organisers of the 19th edition of the ISEM Conference, to be be held at the Bizkaia Aretoa auditorium in Bilbao from April 23-27. The event will focus on conventional and non-conventional manufacturing processes.
Fifteen years later, and for the second time in its history, Bilbao is the city that will host the ISEM “CIRP Conference on Electro Physical and Chemical Machining” addressing recent trends in electro-physical and electro-chemical machining. The meeting, jointly organised by IK4-TEKNIKER and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) will take place from April 23-27 at the Bizkaia Aretoa auditorium.
This 19th edition of the event will open its doors with a welcome reception followed by three days with numerous lectures and activities covering the following subjects:
- Electro-deposition machining (EDM)
- Electro-chemical machining (ECM, ECDM)
- Laser beam machining (LBM)
- Chemical processes
- Additive manufacturing
- Hybrid processes
- Plasma processes
- Electrodeposition
- Ultrasound machining
- Water jet machining
The conference, originally called “The International Symposium of Electro Mechanics (ISEM)” was born in 1960 to showcase progress made in the sector. Since 2013, the event has been held together with CIRP, the International Academy of Production Engineering.
