Optical rulers or encoders have been employed for decades in equipment requiring the precise measurement of displacements: in metrological equipment, machines for measurement based on co-ordinates and machine tools.
As a consequence, manufacturing processes for optical rulers (encoders) were developed, based on both photolithographic and lithographic nanoimprinting on steel and glass.
The R+D work developed over 5 years has culminated with the implementation of a production plant for encoders.
