New "customised" industrial work environments
Five initiatives that develop and evaluate new sustainable work environments capable of adapting to constant changes in terms of manufacturing processes and to different worker profiles that have set up a forum to address the outcomes of their research work.
The introduction of new technologies at factories has boosted "the adaptation of machines to persons" when, in the past, it was only expected that "people had to adapt to machine requirements”.
Smart and connected technologies and new automation approaches guarantee work places that are more resilient, inclusive and safer, with better working conditions resulting in greater productivity and enhanced quality which guarantees greater well-being for workers in terms of performance, adaptability and commitment at the workplace.
There are several initiatives in this context, namely, A4BLUE, led by IK4-TEKNIKER, Factory2Fit, HUMAN, INCLUSIVE and MANUWORK (with IK4-TEKNIKER´s participation) addressing different solutions applicable to manufacturing work environments adapted to individual workers in a customised manner.
ACE Factories: Human Centred Factories Cluster
In their keenness to share this common goal, the five initiatives have set up the ACE Factories Cluster (ACE Factories: HumAn CEntred Factories Cluster), a forum where knowledge, progress and outcomes of projects related to new industrial work environments shall be addressed.
