The leader of the Spanish Workers’ Socialist Party (PSOE) will visit the technology centre to review the role played by R&D in terms of the business fabric in the Basque Country. Pedro Sánchez will exchange views with IK4-TEKNIKER staff on challenges related to innovation and their connection to European industry.

Eliminating lead from large-sized engines

The IK4-TEKNIKER R&D centre is working on the BeLeadFree project, which is aiming to eliminate lead from the bearings built into the engines of heavy diesel vehicles used in road transport, electrical power generation and maritime transport.

IK4-TEKNIKER, a key player at outstanding Advanced Manufacturing forums in China and Mexico

The technology centre is one of the organisers of the 11th International Conference on High Speed Machining that will be held for the first time ever in China from October 18 – 20. IK4-TEKNIKER will play an outstanding role during the reliability and maintenance forum that will take place in Mexico from October 12 - 15.

New machine tool simulation platforms

The project lies within the framework of the so-called fourth industrial revolution and focuses on applying digitization techniques that are giving rise to a new production model. Results will be validated in the aerospace and automotive business, two of the most strategic economic sectors.
