The technology-based company iLine Microsystems becomes IK4-TEKNIKER’s latest collaborating organisation

The IK4-TEKNIKER R&D centre has incorporated the company iLine Microsystems as a collaborating organisation with the aim of developing joint high added-value projects. The R&D centre will be making available its knowledge relating to photonics, artificial vision, signal processing and algorithmics.

Endorsed by its results, the Basque R&D centre is aspiring to be a “significant player” in the new Basque R&D&i system. IK4-TEKNIKER has made a strategic commitment to maintain employment and to transfer technology to the market through research projects, start-ups and stakes in new enterprises. Throughout its 34-year history it has enjoyed growing prominence in Europe as it has participated in 207 European projects and has led an average of 20% of these projects.

Advanced technology to analyse the degree of cleanliness of components

Using advanced tools, the IK4-TEKNIKER R&D centre is offering a service to measure the degree of cleanliness of components. The service analyses the quantity of contaminants present in the components and/or fluids of hydraulic circuits, thanks to techniques like gravimetric analysis and automatic particle counting.

Industrial maintenance: Data analysis

Condition-based maintenance allows faults to be detected before they occur, and in that way for maintenance to be carried out at the right moment and in a planned way. In this respect, IK4-TEKNIKER is offering support in everything to do with data and information analysis.

Intelligent pigments: they prevent corrosion, repel bacteria and regulate temperature

IK4-TEKNIKER is the scientific coordinator of a European project that is seeking to cut costs and improve energy efficiency in the automotive industry and construction. The project, which kicked off in 2012 with a budget of 4.6 million euros, ended on 28 February.

Learning from the bees to organise the traffic better

IK4-TEKNIKER is participating in a project that will be incorporating the attributes of natural systems into the smart home or intelligent traffic networks and aims to cut the energy consumption of homes by over 20% and improve traffic networks by 70%.
