Tekniker participates in the 16th edition of the Metromeet Conference
An expert from the technology centre will be giving a presentation on how to calibrate robotic systems and run with demanding applications (assembly, inspection, erection) in which accuracy is an essential component.
The Euskalduna Conference Centre in Bilbao is the venue where the 16th edition of Metromeet, the International Conference on Industrial Dimensional Metrology will be held 3 - 5 March. This year’s edition will focus on real applications related to smart metrology, advanced calibration and instrumentation, metrology and Industry 4.0 and on new dimensional metrology solutions.
Organised by Grupo Innovalia, this conference has become an international benchmark in the field of metrology and demonstrated the extent to which this sector has grown. The event will feature several international speakers who will talk about the challenges companies are facing nowadays as regards benefits resulting from implementing smart metrology technologies.
Tekniker will participate again this year with a presentation describing the degree of accuracy of robotic systems as regard running with demanding applications for which repeatability is not the only requirement, as happens with assembly, inspection or erection.
Specifically, the technology centre will present solutions to guarantee the accuracy of volumetric positioning whenever robotic systems are involved. The main aim is to improve the performance of these industrial systems to operate with demanding applications in which precision is essential.
Likewise, and in order to reduce costs associated with these solutions, the ultimate goal is to dispose of external measuring systems used to monitor robot accuracy. To achieve this goal, kinematic calibration must be performed on robots to improve volumetric performance, not only in terms of static but also dynamic positioning in order to substantially improve robot response and performance.
The Metromeet conference
Metromeet is a conference aimed at professionals, university staff and users of products made by companies. The speakers will address issues such as predictive maintenance or interoperability, two crucial areas for companies whose ultimate goal consists in implementing optimised digital production.
In addition to high-level technological contents, the event will also offer international networking opportunities for industrial professionals and the companies they represent.
