The ‘open call’ is be presented during the IoT Week 2018 conference and use cases connected to how IoT is applied in the agrofood business shall be evaluated. A number of new regions and use cases related to the post-production stage shall be included too.
In addition to other applications, IK4-TEKNIKER is working on research projects roll-out IoT in the agrofood business and increase productivity levels, use resources more efficiently and improve end product quality.
More specifically, the technology centre is involved in a European initiative called the Internet of Food and Farm 2020 (IoF2020), a project in which more than 70 partners are working together to set up an innovation ecosystem so that digital technologies can be used in the agrofood business.
The project team will explain the work done to date during the IoT Week 2018 conference to be held at the Euskalduna Conference Centre in Bilbao from June 4 - 7.
On June 5, moreover, an "open call" will be officially launched during the conference. Anyone interested in this call will be able to describe use cases on how IoT is applied in the agrofood business, preferably in new regions that are not under the project´s umbrella and/or use cases linked to the post-production stage (logistics, processing, etc.).
All uses cases must have a significant impact on the supply chain, a high degree of technical and innovative viability and be economically sustainable. Chosen projects will receive a maximum of 300,000 euros in funding to develop use cases as from January 2019.
